Thibault Clairis-Gauthier shapes ideas into products, using visual language inspired by a multicultural lens. A creative director hailing from the French-Caribbean and raised in Toulouse, Thibault tells stories using a variety of mediums from design, to clothing, audiovisual, and fine art.

He attended the University of Southern California between 2014-2018 and graduated from the Annenberg School For Communication and Journalism.

Thibault’s passion for music led him to intern and work as an assistant engineer for G.O.O.D Music, where he was immersed in and oversaw the creation of albums for artists such as Teyana Taylor, Pusha T, Nipsey Hussle, and many others.

In 2018, he co-founded Gestalt, a forward thinking streetwear label with Nick Maleki and Darrell Florence. They organized successful pop-up art shows in Downtown LA and collaborated with local indie implant Baby Blue Records to launch the brand at the underground venue The Factory.

Over the last three years, Thibault oversaw the planning, execution, and production of multiple clothing collections as well as their photo, video, and web assets.  He collaborated with other creatives, models, and production companies, including Ms.Robot, and Fishbowl Studios for the rollout of Gestalt’s Terms and Conditions limited collection in 2019.

In 2020, he participated and modeled in an experimental Jordan promotional project named Heirs highlighting the heritage of the iconic shoe brand’s most famous silhouettes in the black community.

The same year, Gestalt also released a T-Shirt to raise funds for bailouts for protesters in the wake of the George Floyd Protests, raising over $1000 in a week for the People’s City Council Los Angeles.

More recently, he uses his knowledge in the branding and merchandising space to consult with e-commerce brands such to help create better messages around products.

His identity, passion for storytelling, and experiences across countries & industries allow him to bring people together around messages in a creative, unique manner.

He is now positioning his experience and art into a fine art practice centered around collage, identity, and advertising.
